The district of Nikolsdorf offers an idyllic outdoor forest swimming pool; Tristachersee is only 12 km away and Weißensee only 35 km away.

Sports activities - two archery areas at Kreithof near Lienz. A paragliding and hang gliding school, along with ideal conditions for rafting and kayaking.

The Golf facilities in the Dolomites in Lavant are only 5 km away from our hotel and are amongst the most beautiful 27-hole Golf facilities in Austria. 3 to 9 holes can be combined individually on three different 18-hole Golf rounds, and all this in the backdrop of the magnificent scenery of the Lienz Dolomites.

As a Drau cycle Hotel Tschitscher is the ideal base camp for cyclists. Nikolsdorf is the starting point for numerous star routes on the Drau cycle paths; the neighbouring cycle paths (Iseltal, Gailtal) – are also scenically and culturally interesting tours for pleasure cyclists.

The museum of the city of Lienz at Schloß Bruck is dedicated to the most famous man from East Tirol, the painter Egger-Lienz.  There are also themed exhibitions, which change each year.
The Archaeology Park and the Museum Aguntum Stadt give an impressive insight into the fantastic Roman town at Boden in Tirol.

Kulturnetzwerk Osttirol 

True motorbike fans will be filled with enthusiasm. Numerous converging rides on the idyllic mountain roads of the neighbouring Friaul, Gail- and Lesachtal Valleys are also possible to get to from Nikolsdorf. The Großglockner road and the Plöcken Pass are practically around the corner.

Nikolsdorf itself has 4 demanding mountain bike tours and in the region of the Lienz Dolomites there are 25 bike tours which are designated as being very good, they have route descriptions and an altitude profile
(560km and 32,000m difference in altitude).

The sport airfield Nikolsdorf-Lienz is only 3 km away from our hotel and is, thermically speaking, the most interesting airport to the south of the Alpine divide. From here there are spellbinding sightseeing flights along the Alpine divide (Glockner & Venediger group), as well as to the Lienz and Sexten Dolomites.
